🕺 Can a Freestyle Soccer Star Dance Without the Ball?
Tobias Becs, widely recognized as one of the world’s leading freestyle soccer performers and a pioneer of street football performance, has taken on a completely new challenge. This season, he is competing in Dancing with the Stars, showcasing a different side of his artistry on prime time television.

After captivating audiences worldwide with elite ball control, creativity, and freestyle soccer shows, Becs now steps onto the dance floor, trading football boots for dance shoes.
From Freestyle Soccer Shows to Dancing with the Stars
Each week, Tobias Becs and his professional dance partner perform brand new choreographies live on stage, in front of the judges and millions of viewers. Known for his precision and control in freestyle soccer shows, the transition into partner dance has pushed him far outside his comfort zone.
“This is completely different from what I’m used to,” Becs explains. “On stage with a ball, I have full control. In dance, I have to let go of that control and fully trust my partner. It’s challenging, but also incredibly exciting.”
Bridging Dance and Freestyle Soccer Performance

Already in the first live show, Tobias delivered a standout performance by blending freestyle soccer elements with salsa, creating a unique crossover between sport and dance. The performance surprised both judges and audience members and quickly went viral across social media platforms.
“I want to show that soccer can also be art, rhythm, and expression,” he says. “Being able to bring my own freestyle soccer style into the world of dance is a dream.”
This fusion reflects what has defined Becs’ career: pushing boundaries and redefining what a freestyle soccer show can be.
From the Streets of Oslo to Prime Time Television
Tobias Becs began his journey as a teenager practicing freestyle soccer on the streets of Oslo. Since then, he has represented Norway at world championships, performed freestyle soccer shows across the globe, and collaborated with international brands, clubs, and football icons.
Now, through Dancing with the Stars, audiences get to see a new dimension of his performance skills. Not just technical ability, but vulnerability, emotion, and personal growth on stage.
“I’m used to pushing myself physically,” he says. “Here, it’s also emotional. You have to be willing to show feelings in front of the camera and a live audience. That’s new for me, but incredibly rewarding.”
